A portion of your race registration will be donated to CCMI -- Community Cooperative Ministries, Inc. CCMI provides more than 14,000 meals each month through their Soup Kitchen and Meals On Wheels programs. The nonprofit agency also educates 40 children in their Community Montessori Preschool, provides weekend backpacks full of food to more than 2,500 children each school year and oversees a mobile food pantry, everyday choice marketplace and cafe.

Are you ready for 2012?

Then save the date for the next Galloway Captiva Tri... Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 15-16... and it will be bigger and better than ever. We'll announce the opening of online registration to everyone who participated in the 2011 race as soon as it's ready to go live, and will provide you updates on the race as we head into the spring.

The 2011 Captiva tri...what a great weekend of
fitness, family and fun under the Captiva sun!

We want to thank the athletes, volunteers and spectators who made the inaugural Captiva Tri such a success! Thanks to all of you, we raised funds to support CCMI (the sponsored charity), introduced some kids (and some adults) to the world of multisport racing and had a lot of fun!

Want to see photos from the weekend? Here are some links:

  • We've turned Chris Koerner's photos from both tris into a montage... click here for the adult race, and here for the kid's event (both are large files, so be patient).
  • Coverage from the island weekly, including some photos.
  • SanibelCaptivaDaily.com
  • The Southwest Florida Bicycling blog...from Harvey Software, the sponsor who provided "3 Feet Please" T-shirts to all the racers!
  • News-Press coverage... and the news article from the race
  • WINK-TV coverage of the kid's tri
  • The Captiva Tri on Flickr
  • The Captiva Tri on YouTube...no audio, but great video!

Race results are available online from Alta Vista Sports here.
